Former first lady Imelda Marcos has become amongst 11 of the “greediest people of all time” worldwide by Newsweek magazine.
Marcos “saw it as her duty to provide ‘some kind of light, a star’ for the impoverished Filipino people over whom her husband presided.“; “So she took $5 million shopping sprees to New York and Rome, reportedly owned the world’s largest collections of gems and 3,000 pairs of shoes,” according to Newsweek.
The term “Imeldific” came from her luxrious lifestyle that the word would mean “ostentatiously extravagant.”
Would it be better if she had been collecting anime figures and manga instead of these shoes? We would have had the largest meseum of it and it could have been an Otaku’s ultimate dream…

I do realized, if Imelda Marcos was a guy (well, she does look like a man) in their 20’s ~ 30’s like the age demographic I’m currently in, the He-Imelda would’ve been a figya-collecting otaku. That still doesn’t mean most people would like the alternate dimension Imelda though.
